Sharp NEC Display Solutions client installation – Finance & Insurance
Storebrand Group
Harmony and collaboration in the workplace
Purpose-designed to enhance collaboration, staff and visitors to Storebrand Group’s new office space in Stavanger, Norway, benefit from expertly specified meeting spaces facilitating better workflows. Two giant Sharp/NEC LED walls elevate the central staircase space with images from nature, generating a sense of tranquillity, whilst providing multipurpose functionality as presentation screens.
The Storebrand Group is a leading player in Scandinavia for long-term savings and pensions. SKAGEN AS is an investment company, owned by the Storebrand Group. Operating independently, yet wishing to achieve synergies across the group, Storebrand and SKAGEN AS sought a new office space to promote collaboration and integration across departments.
„Our ambition was to create modern and flexible facilities that fulfil our commitment to our customers, while at the same time providing a pleasant working environment for our colleagues,“ explains Miriam Camilla Fjellaker Wolden, who was the Storebrand and SKAGEN AS project manager responsible for the new office project.
Global AV integration specialist, Kinly, approached the Storebrand Group to offer their expert consultancy.
“This was a large and important project. Good advice from the start was crucial,“ says Miriam, who worked closely with both Kinly and internal AV integration specialists to develop a solution that perfectly meets the company’s needs.
The Challenge
Storebrand and SKAGEN AS wanted an activity-based workplace with an open plan office space, yet with quiet rooms available for focused work or private video meetings. Several rooms are now equipped for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) scenarios allowing users to easily connect their own notebook to access video conferencing peripherals.
The office’s central staircase creates a natural gathering point. With plants, a cascade of lights and several seating and landing areas, the central open space unifies the building and draws people together. An attractive space for social interaction, relaxed meetings and wellbeing breaks, it presented an opportunity to install a multipurpose visual display, to enhance the ambience with images from nature and to deliver company information and presentations.
The Solution
Experts at Kinly recognised that the vastness of the space, the viewing distances, and the bright ambient light pointed to a solution using LED technology.
As a global solutions provider for Sharp/NEC’s Global Customer Program, Kinly has ten accredited installation engineers who are fully trained to install Sharp/NEC LED solutions, committed to delivering high-quality customer experiences.
“LED is a modular technology which gave our client the flexibility they needed to maximise the available space with two large and customised image surfaces,” says Trond Dyrnes, channel sales manager for Sharp/NEC in the Nordic region.
“LED technology has an impressively long lifecycle which meets today‘s increasing demand for sustainability. We focus on product reliability and durability, which is reflected in the quality we deliver.”
Kinly specified the Sharp/NEC LED-E Series with super slim and light weight modules for unobtrusive low-profile integration. With a precision-engineered aluminium chassis, each module is perfectly aligned to create a single large surface canvas. Use of metal also minimises heat build-up ensuring robust longevity and long-lasting performance. Satisfying the demand for a low budget installation, the LED-E Series provides a highquality professional solution yet at an appealing total cost of ownership.
Sharp/NEC’s scalable computing
Miriam is pleased with the result: “The exceptionally clear images that are displayed on the screens really make the staircase the heart of the building. It offers a lot of flexibility regarding content too.”
The centralised AV system designed and installed by Kinly allows for very simple and intuitive connection to join video meetings, or to present, from any of the meeting spaces or using the vast LED walls in the central staircase space. When not used for business communication purposes, the LED walls present the opportunity to enrich the peaceful surroundings with scenes from nature which appear so dramatically lifelike.
The Result
“For us, good partners have been crucial to the success of the project. We have a lot of expertise in the organisation, but when you put these forces together with professionals who have cutting-edge expertise in their areas, the result is excellent,” says Miriam.
“We now have a space where we can proudly welcome our customers, organise large events and meet as colleagues. We have aesthetically beautiful facilities that are both ergonomically organised and designed for collaboration. We couldn’t be more delighted with the result.”
